Stake-Sponsored Self-Reliance Groups

The Saratoga Springs Mount Saratoga Stake now offers Self-Reliance groups. Groups are offered at various times throughout the year. Course curriculum is studied in a facilitated group setting once a week for 12-week cycles. See the upcoming event schedule for the next kickoff devotional or other related events.

Self-reliance is the “ability, commitment, and effort to provide the spiritual and temporal necessities of life for self and family. As members become self-reliant, they are also better able to serve and care for others.”

Self-Reliance Devotional

Self-Reliance Devotional at the stake center 7:00 -8:30 PM. All are invited to attend. Come and learn about the 4 areas of self-reliance to choose from including personal finance, running a small business, education, and finding better employment. Small groups are formed and meet for 12 weeks to learn, discuss, support each other, and improve both temporally and spiritually! 


If one of the self-reliance groups does not fit your schedule right now, please register using the link to the right and we will form groups as soon as we have enough people to start the group.

TBD in February at the Stake Center, this group is for those who want better control over their finances. Group members will learn how to eliminate debt, protect your family, and invest in the future. They will create a financial plan and follow a budget. Spouses are encouraged, but not required, to attend together. Group participants also learn how our Heavenly Father is a willing partner in all aspects of our life, even our finances. The group will meet for 12 weeks.

TBD in February at the Stake Center, this self-reliance group will help you learn to make wise business decisions as you start or grow a business. The goal of this group is not only to help you with your business; it is also to help you act in greater obedience and faith in the Lord and receive His promised blessings of temporal and spiritual self-reliance. Members learn key business skills such as identifying customer needs, finding customers, and keeping good business records. The group will meet for 12 weeks.
