Stake-Sponsored Self-Reliance Groups
Highland Utah East Stake

The Self-Reliance Initiative is an inspired program, designed to help all members of the Church to improve their personal and family circumstances. Great blessings are made available to us as we follow heaven sent counsel from our leaders. Simply put, self-reliance is principle of salvation, both temporal and spiritual.

The aim of the Self-Reliance Initiative is to help individuals help themselves become self-reliant. Self-reliance is more than having a good job, food storage, or money in the bank. Self-reliance is “the ability, commitment, and effort to provide for the spiritual and temporal necessities of life for self and family. As members become self-reliant, they are also better able to serve and care for others,” and work is enthroned as a ruling principle in their lives (Handbook 2: Administering the Church [2010], 6.1.1).

By your own desire or with encouragement of a trusted friend or leader, you have come to this website seeking more information. We encourage you to register for one of four (4) classes that will be available in August. The “Personal Finance” class is the most popular and we encourage all members to take this class.  The exact date and time will be announced at a later date.  Those who have signed up will be contacted directly with detailed information.

By way of information, more Self-Reliance information is available at the Church website - lds.org/self-reliance

My the Lord bless and inspire you on your path to self-reliance.
