Stake-Sponsored Self-Reliance Groups

The Elk Ridge Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints now offers Self-Reliance groups. Groups are offered at various times throughout the year. Course curriculum is studied in a facilitated group setting once a week for 12-week cycles. See the upcoming event schedule for the next kickoff devotional or other related events.


EnglishConnect brings together English language learners, instructors, volunteers, and Church leaders to create an English learning program for all of God‘s children. The program includes both face-to-face and online courses that also provide opportunities to learn more about the Church if learners choose to do so.

Learn computer basics and how to type. This class will be held at the Springville Employment Center, which is located at 1672 West 700 South, Springville UT. Class will begin on Tuesday Mar. 12, 2019 and will continue each Thursday evening for 6 weeks.

Self-Reliance Initiative Devotional

All are invited to attend. Come and learn about the 4 areas of self-reliance to choose from including Personal Finances, Starting and Growing a Business, Education for Better Work and Finding a Job.  Groups are formed and meet for 12 weeks to learn, discuss and complete objectives.  This will take place in the Stake Center Cultural Hall.  Casual Dress


EnglishConnect 1 is the first course for novice learners who are learning English through both classroom and online study. This manual will help guide them as they learn and practice new conversational skills.

BYU-Pathway Worldwide

For the vast majority of church members throughout the world, attending a church college or university on campus is not a possibility, primary because of cost, time and location. 

BYU-Pathway Worldwide offers higher education - online - without ever requiring a student to come to a campus.

April 2, 2019 is the deadline to apply to Pathway Connect classes that will begin on April 22, 2019
